My name is Joyce Nxumalo,A 26th year old intern trainee in Management Assistant.I studied at Mnambithi TVET college Ezakheni A campus. I started in July 2022 and finished in November 2023 with one distinction in the bag.I I have relocated to Umlazi last year March.
Work Experience
*I did not struggle to secure my Internship after obtaining N6 certificate in Management Assistant.I started my Internship in April last year(2024).It was not easy but I got used to the working environment.Yes there may be challenges but there must be solutions to every problem you facing.
Why N6 Management Assistant
I studied Management Assistant because I like socialising and making connections with potential clients. This course has really helped Me in boosting my confidence when it comes to public speaking and in-house presentation. I also enjoy studying something that will force Me to learn different languages since I Deal with people of different races,It really boost my vocabulary in many ways.
Internship
I got my Internship through "my college".The was a post on Facebook that was all over my feed in March last year that they are spaces available for Interns around KZN and they were not specific about the location. I then applied although I didn't meet the requirements by that time because I was still waiting for my N6 certificate,I applied with my academic record, statements(N4-N6) and a letter from my College.Luckily I scored an Interview with the host employer through the agent (My college). I passed the interview then signed a 18 months contract with them which is ending in September this year.
Company
I'm currently an Intern at Burchmores auction house in Durban(Springfield). The company is doing great in sales and the experience I'm obtaining aligns well with my duties. The service We deliver to customer is top tier according to the review We are getting each day. The working environment is conducive and sceptically healthy to most of us. This is my first time in the working environment but I can proudly say I have grown as both employee and an individual in a good way. I am very grateful for the opportunity and I will forever be thankful to my Supervisor and my Manager for standing with Me since day one. It is indeed a wonderful journey.
