About Me
My name is Sbongile Maphanga, and I am 23 years old. I currently reside in Doornfontein, Johannesburg, but I was born and raised in Namakgale, Phalaborwa in Limpopo. I completed my matric in 2019 at Relebogile High School. In 2022, I decided to further my studies at Central Johannesburg TVET College, where I successfully completed my N4, N5, and N6 in Human Resources Management. I consider myself to be optimistic, smart, self-confident, and hardworking, with a consistently positive mindset. I’m passionate about growth, both personally and professionally, and always ready to take on new challenges.

Work Experience
*After completing my N6 in Human Resources Management, I actively applied for internships to gain practical experience. I remained persistent until I eventually secured the internship I currently hold, which has been a valuable stepping stone in my career journey.

Why N6 Human Resource Management
I chose to study Human Resources because I’ve always been interested in understanding people, how organizations work, and how both can grow together. I’m passionate about creating positive work environments where employees feel valued, heard, and supported. HR allows me to combine strategic thinking with people-focused work. Whether it’s recruiting the right talent, improving employee engagement, or helping shape company culture, I see HR as a field where I can make a real impact—both on individual careers and overall business success.

Internship
A friend from college told me about MyCollege, and I decided to apply. That was around April, and I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the internship program that very same month.

Company
I am currently working at Fine Blanking (Pty) Ltd, located in Devland, Soweto. The company specializes in automotive component manufacturing, particularly in metal pressings, tool-making, jig and die-making, and CNC machining. Fine Blanking offers a great environment to learn and grow. Although I’m focused on HR, I’ve also been exposed to a variety of other departments and tasks, which has broadened my skills beyond just Human Resources. The work environment is healthy, friendly, and supportive. The company encourages growth and doesn’t limit employees to one area, which I truly appreciate. I’m also proud to be part of a company that contributes to local employment and skills development in Soweto.
