My name is Nontokozo Samantha Mkhize, born and bred in Pietermaritzburg the capital city, I'm 25 years of age, did my matric back in 2017, took a gap year 2018, then decided to go back to school the next year. Growing up I wanted to be an accountant or business manager but my points did not allow me to qualify so I enrolled at dut for a diploma in public relations. I hated everything about the course so I applied at a tvet college here in pmb for management assistant, it not necessarily business management but i feel like it leads me towards that journey. i loved everything about the course and i enjoyed it. i passed my modules with flying colours and 2 distinctions.
Work Experience
*i've never worked a day in my life so this was my first ever interview.
Why N6 Management Assistant
Growing up I wanted to be an accountant or business manager but my points did not allow me to qualify so I enrolled at dut for a diploma in public relations. I hated everything about the course so I applied at a tvet college here in pmb for management assistant, it not necessarily business management but i feel like it leads me towards that journey. i loved everything about the course and i enjoyed it. i passed my modules with flying colours and 2 distinctions.
Internship
i then was scrolling down on facebook, i came across GW Connect link saying that we should put in our details, this company helps young unemployed youths to find internships, i filled in all my details and in about 2 weeks i scored an interview, mind you i've never worked a day in my life so this was my first ever interview, i was nervous cause i already have an issue with public speaking and i had no confidence but i practised for the whole week, talking to myself in the mirror and also speaking to my siblings as if they were the interviewers.
Company
the day finally came, that when i got to step foot at a company that changed my life and my confidence. in the interview i was competing with 2 more people and they were doing finance courses so i was already feeling like im gonna loose. i did my interview with confidence and i left the premises, as soon as i got to town i got a phone call saying that i got the internship, this day made realise that im actually capable of doing bigger things and i was just doubting myself. i am now a service intern at Bidvest Mccarthy Hino Pmb. hopefully this opportunity will open many doors for me in the car?truck industry. Thank you so much guys for the opportunity you really are changing lives.
