My name is Refiloe Ntubu. I am 23 years of age. I grew up in Vosloorus, matriculated in 2019, went to college in 2020 and studied Management Assistant. To mention a few skills; I am computer proficient, I have a strong work ethic and I have great oral and written communication skills.
Work Experience
*Post college, I stayed at home for a year and a few months and never worked. I have been applying for learnerships and internships (the current one included - which I got through Gw connect). I started working at my current workplace and that’s where I acquired my very first experience and all thanks to GW Connect. I only have 10 months of experience, and so far I’ve broadened my understanding in the workplace and got exposed to many different cultures and different types of people which is really interesting.
Why N6 Management Assistant
I did not exactly choose to study Management Assistant, firstly because I didn’t have an idea of what I want to study and secondly I didn’t have information that I need to apply while still in high school. However, I have so much interest in Business Studies and the course I chose is related to business which I did in high school. I gave it a chance and really enjoyed studying it.
Internship
I got my internship through applying and I also saw a post that was shared to me, I sent an email then got feedback and started creating my profile. I then got invited for the first interview which I failed, that’s where I lost hope and continued sending out applications. After 2/3 months I was invited for the second interview. It went well but I had to get placed in a much closer workplace that was not far from Vosloorus, then I went for a third interview and after 2 weeks I was called to sign a contract and that was the happiest time of my life.
Company
The company that I am working for is a logistics or transportation company. It is a very broad company with a variety of departments to learn from. I am placed in the legal department and therefore it counts as a Junior Secretary is also part of the jobs I can apply for under Management Assistant.
