About Me
I'm Penuel Mahlangu and I am currently an internal audit intern at the united national breweries. I am passionate about understanding how organizations function internally and how financial and operational controls can be improved to ensure transparency and efficiency.

Work Experience
*Before starting my internship, I had some academic exposure to auditing principles and participated in several university projects that simulated real-world auditing scenarios. I also volunteered in student organizations where I handled budgeting and financial reporting, which gave me a practical understanding of financial accountability.

Why Diploma in Finance/Commerce
I chose to study Internal Auditing because I’ve always been intrigued by the inner workings of businesses—how decisions are made, how risks are managed, and how financial integrity is maintained. Internal auditing stood out to me as a field where I could make a meaningful impact by helping organizations operate more effectively and ethically.

Internship
I secured my internship by creating a profile on my college website. I also tailored my CV and cover letter to highlight my academic achievements and passion for internal auditing. Eventually, I was offered an internship opportunity at United National Breweries.

Company
I am currently interning in the Internal Auditing department at United National Breweries, a leading producer of traditional African beer in South Africa. The company has a rich heritage and plays a significant role in the local beverage industry. As an internal audit intern, I assist in evaluating internal controls, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This experience has been incredibly valuable in applying my academic knowledge to real-world challenges and learning from seasoned professionals in the field.
