My name is Dineo Sabantini. I grew up in a village called Robega in Rustenburg and I completed my matric in 2017 at Charora Secondary school. I studied and completed a bachelor of commerce degree in Financial Accountancy at the North-West University, mafikeng campus.
Work Experience
*During my academic years, when we were on recess, I used to work as a part-time cashier and shopkeeper at one of the local supermarket/ tarven in my village. I was also one of the electoral officers who were recruited by the IEC during the 2024 national elections. Lastly, I was recruited to represent North West in the Basketball National League for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Why Degree in Finance/Commerce
I chose to study finance because I used to enjoyed the Economic and Management Science subject in grade 9 and the finance topic in Mathematics. Even though I did not do accounting or economics in high school, I was inspired to become an Accountant and having a financial accounting degree is a step close to achieving my dreams.
Internship
After months of countless applications, rejections and failed interviews, I received a link to a finance internship post on the SAYouth website which was posted by GWConnect. I applied on the SA Youth website then a few days later I received an email to confirm my application and they scheduled an interview for me on the same day. I passed the interview and in a few weeks I was scheduled for fingerprint checks and I received my contract on the very same day.
Company
I am currently working at Sun Village super spar and I am having the best experience. The people are so friendly and welcoming and the are passionate about teaching me everything that I need to know. I am so blessed to have been placed at such a healthy environment.
