My name is Ephesia Mabonela, 27 years of age. I was born and raised in Mmametlhake - Mpumalanga and I completed my Matric in 2015 at Mabothe Senior Secondary, where I believe my passion for numbers developed as I was doing commercial subjects. I went on to study Financial Management at Central Johannesburg College - Parktown Campus. I am a vibrant and an extroverted individual who reads and learns about anything opposite to finance because my knowledge is not limited to this field. So far, I find psychology to be most interesting and will definitely pursue something in that field because I get to engage with different people on a daily, and I just find it fascinating how whack or brilliant people's minds can be, and therefore their approach to the outside world. I am inquisitive and more open to any psychology related books to stimulate... story for another day.
Work Experience
*Well, after I finished my matric, I worked as call-centre agent (something I wouldn't do again in life), for a good draining six months of my life and I regret ever exposing myself to that kind of a workplace - but still, I'd rather be there, than be told. I then enrolled at the college and COVID hit right after, went back to call-centre, a different one this time but the environment was all the same? Two months into this one I left and trust me when I say I am not going back there.
I then did my YES programme at Volkswagen Group Parts - Centurion, to term (full 12 months) that's where I got exposure to the warehouse, got into another warehouse - Amrod in Woodmead and I was a packer for branded items. for a little over a year.
Why Financial Management
To be honest I studied finance because that was all the acceptance I got after I applied with a few institutions, I used to think I sucked with numbers because my maths and accounting results would always be lower than every other subject, until in Grade 12 when I got a different mentor for my accounting and guess who got an award for best accounting learner (topping all G12's) ? And that is when my perspective changed. I knew I could make something out of it.
All in all, I studied finance because all I wanted was to proof to myself that I could do it. And now, I can say I am able.
Internship
My former classmate who I was friends with sent me a link early 2023 to register my profile with GW Connect and I was just not ready then, as I wanted to try other things... I registered after she was done with her internship, and I got a few interviews with intellect but was not successful until I landed another one this year(2025) and I thought I should give it my all as I didn't want to go back to my previous workplace - felt there wasn't much growth I've done since I got there. I nailed it and started in February.
Company
I am currently working for T3 Projects. The company has a specialization in the construction industry, particularly mining.
I have gained so much knowledge since I have joined this company and will forever be grateful for the staff here for their never-ending patience with their interns.
