About Me
I am Reitumetse Kekana, originally from Gamashashane, a village in Limpopo. I relocated to Pretoria to pursue my education and successfully completed my N6 Certificate in Management Assistant in December 2019 at Tshwane South TVET College, Centurion campus. I am a dedicated and motivated individual who thrives on challenges and actively seeks opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Work Experience
*I completed a 6-month internship as an administrative intern, which provided me with essential experience in various administrative tasks and office operations. Unfortunately, my course requires a total of 18 months of work experience to qualify for the National Diploma, prompting me to apply for this current internship opportunity. During my time in the department, I gained significant insights into the workings of a professional environment. The experience was incredibly informative, allowing me to enhance my skills in organization, communication, and teamwork. The staff in my unit were exceptionally supportive and dedicated to my success, creating an encouraging atmosphere that facilitated my growth and learning. I am eager to build on this foundation and further my experience in the administrative field through this internship.

Why N6 Management Assistant
I chose to study Management Assistant studies because I am interested in the essential role administrative professionals play in keeping organizations running smoothly. I believe that strong organizational and communication skills are vital in any workplace, and I wanted to develop these skills. The program offers practical knowledge that prepares me for various administrative tasks, such as scheduling, project coordination, and customer service. I appreciate the hands-on training and real-world applications that come with it. Ultimately, I want to contribute positively to an organization and help teams work more efficiently. This field excites me because it allows me to be a vital part of achieving business goals.

Internship
I discovered my internship opportunity through a Facebook post shared by a member of the Graduated24 group, which included an advertisement from Support@MyCollege seeking applications for internships from students who had completed their N6 certificates. Recognizing this as a valuable opportunity, I promptly submitted my resume along with my certificates. After a few weeks, I received an email from Support@MyCollege informing me that they had reviewed my application and would like to conduct an online interview. I was fortunate to successfully pass all the interviews, which led to an offer for placement with the company where I am currently working. Following this, I participated in a final interview with the placement company, and I am grateful to have passed that as well. This entire process ultimately secured my internship with Support@MyCollege.

Company
I am currently working as an administrative intern at Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital, which is part of the University of Pretoria's Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. This esteemed institution is known for its commitment to advancing veterinary education, research, and animal care. The hospital provides a range of services, including emergency care, surgery, and specialized treatment, with a strong focus on promoting animal welfare and public health. In my role within the Spay Clinic department, I assist with various administrative tasks, such as managing appointment schedules, maintaining patient records, and coordinating communications between the veterinary team and pet owners. This experience is invaluable as it allows me to apply the organizational and communication skills I developed during my Management Assistant studies. Working at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital has deepened my understanding of the vital role that administrative support plays in the veterinary field. I am inspired by the clinic’s commitment to education and research, which not only enhances the quality of care for animals but also contributes to the training of future veterinarians. This environment fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement, allowing me to witness the integration of practical skills and academic knowledge in real-world scenarios.
