My name is Karabo Genevieve Mohale. I am a 24 year old from Kagiso, Krugersdorp. I completed my matric in 2019 and took a two year unexpected gap year due to space constraints at most universities. In 2022, I finally got admission to study at the Tshwane University of Technology pursuing my Diploma in Marketing which I completed in November 2024.
Work Experience
*I do not have much work experience however in 2021, I worked at Merchants under the Vodacom Campaign as a call center agent. In February 2025, I started working at iStore as a casual Sales Consultant experiencing direct contact with the customers. I’d say working with people was challenging at times but it was a great challenge that I would look forward to because they kept me on my feet and it was a fast paced environment that required me to be a critical thinker and always coming up with solutions to customers problems. One of the things I liked about working there was that I learned how to turn a prospect into a sale and positioning a product that would fit the customers needs.
Why Diploma in Marketing
I chose to study Marketing because I’ve always been fascinated by how ideas, visuals, and emotions can influence people’s decisions. Marketing allows me to combine creativity with strategy. To tell stories that connect brands to people. I love that it’s constantly evolving, which challenges me to stay innovative and think differently every day.
Internship
I got this internship through scrolling on Indeed looking for internship opportunities. I am not quite sure when and how it happened because I was frustrated and seeking employment then I luckily ended up registering my profile on GW Connect and they contacted me a week later with an internship opportunity. I did a telephonic interview with GW Connect and after that I did an in-person interview with their client which went well.
Company
The company I’m currently working for is a Property Company, Ithemba Property. GW Connect found me an opportunity at such an amazing and reputable company. Seeing where they come from and now being part of where they are going is great and I’m looking forward to gaining hands-on experience and growing within this organization.
