My name is Lesego Tinyiko Matjeka ,I am a 23 year old female. I recently completed my bachelor of commerce in Finance degree at the university of Johannesburg, my journey has been defined by seizing opportunities, whether it was effectively managing a customer facing role as a general worker or stepping up to a strategic advisory role as a junior financial planner .I thrive in team environments, effective communication and leveraging my skills in critical thinking and management.
Work Experience
*My career path has built a valuable bridge between practical operational efficiency and strategic financial planning. In 2021 I worked as a general worker at Superspar, the role was foundational. I learned the importance of high productivity and customer excellence. Early in 2025 I worked as a junior financial planner at Morebo Wealth, this was a significant step into finance
Why Bachelor of commerce In Finance
I chose to study Bcom in finance because I grew up in an environment where financial literacy wasn't so evident , so I wanted to make a difference through financial guidance and also I have always been interested in understanding how businesses operate and making informed financial decisions. I enjoy analyzing data ,identifying trends and finding creative solutions to financial challenges.
Internship
I secured my role as a finance intern at United National Breweries through My College/Talent SA.I was in my final year of studying in 2024 when I was scrolling through my socials(TIKTOCK), a random video popped by and the girl was explaining how she secured her internship through talent SA and she dropped the link under the comments section ,I followed the steps and registered my profile and I got a reply earlier this year for a pre interview. Later that month I was called at UNB. All thanks to Talent SA for helping me secure an internship with UNB.
Company
UNB is a brewing company, they're the manufacturer of traditional African beer in SA. The company produces and distributes beer from breweries and depots throughout SA. The team members are so welcoming and accommodative and so far the company is providing me with invaluable practical experience in key financial functions ,complementing my academic knowledge and preparing me to contribute significantly to the team.
