My name is Themba Vincent Twala. I grew up in a township called Mavimbela in Katlehong, where I completed my matric at Phumulani Secondary School in 2009. I enrolled at Ekurhuleni West College (Kathorus Campus) in 2011 and could not complete in record time due to financial problems. In 2015 I registered again to complete my N6 and passed all my modules.
Work Experience
*In 2013 I started working at Union hospital at Alberton as a cleaner for 2 months. I then got another job at Global direct (insurance company) as a sales person. In 2014 January I was employed at Shoprite as a till packer, later on I became a cashier until I resigned in June 2015. That is when I went back to college to complete my course.
Why Financial Management N6
When I grew up at home we had nothing and my mother was always in debts and stressed. I saw her struggle and did not want that for myself. That is when I chose finance. I wanted to be able to manage our revenues and help my mother to overcome all her debts by being there to help her manage money wisely.
Internship
I applied for an internship to several firms or companies but with no luck. I was told about GWConnect by my girlfriend and did not believe her at first due to my many unsuccessful applications, but I registered my CV on their database. In a few months I received a call from one of the Outex team members (Kgaugelo) who advised me to complete my profile and I did. Later that week I received a call from the same person (Kgaugelo) informing me about an interview at Unitrans, I went there and passed. I am now officially appointed as intern at Unitrans.
Company
Unitrans has very welcoming an environment as well as staff. They are very helpful and friendly. I am learning a lot and I am sure there is even more to learn.
