I am Omphemetse Maseng, a graduate of the University of Johannesburg with a BCom in Business Management and a BCom Honours in Strategic Management, obtained with distinction. I also hold a Young Leaders Development Programme certificate from Johannesburg Business School, which strengthened my leadership and strategic thinking skills. Originally, I am from Mafikeng in the North West Province. I am mostly passionate about business, research and strategy, with a drive to create meaningful impact wherever I work.
Work Experience
*My career journey began at the University of Johannesburg, where I worked part-time as an Academic Advisor and Specialist Assistant. These roles allowed me to mentor students, coordinate projects, and strengthen my ability to guide others through complex challenges.
Why Degree in Business Management
My interest in commerce was sparked in high school, where I excelled in Business Studies. Pursuing business management and strategic management was a natural progression, enabling me to deepen my understanding of how organizations grow, adapt and succeed.
Internship
In March 2025, I applied and interviewed through MyCollege. I received the call in September and began in October 2025 as a Consultant Pre-Intern, later transitioning into a Consultant Intern in February 2026.
I am formally employed by WG House Consult, which currently finances my internship while hosted at SoluGrowth (Pty) Ltd to gain hands on experience. My role is under a project with Mastercard in the Legal Compliance-Commercial Payments department, which has given me exposure to international compliance standards and commercial payment processes.
During this time, I developed a system installation guide that addressed onboarding gaps and is now actively used within our project team at the Pretoria office. For this contribution, I was honored with the award of most proactive and dedicated employee in just a few months of being with the company. I am grateful to WG House Consult for financing this opportunity and to SoluGrowth for providing the environment where I could grow and make a lasting impact.

SoluGrowth specializes in Accounting, HR, Payroll, IT Outsourcing, Business Transformation, and Customer Care. With other branches in Cape Town, the United States, and Egypt.
