My name is Holane Mildred Sono, and I am 23 years old. I grew up in Limpopo, where I completed my matric in 2019. In 2024, I relocated to Johannesburg to pursue my studies and career opportunities. I enrolled at Central Johannesburg TVET College, where I completed my N6 in Human Resources Management.
Work Experience
*In 2024, I also gained work experience as a part-time Administrator at Active Minds Psychological Services, a private psychological practice. This opportunity allowed me to develop administrative skills, work in a professional environment, and understand the importance of organization and supporting daily operations.
Why N6 Human Resource Management
I chose to study Human Resources Management because I enjoy working with people and being part of processes that help organizations run smoothly. HR plays a very important role in supporting employees and creating a positive working environment. I am passionate about contributing to workplaces where people feel supported, valued, and able to perform at their best.
Internship
I obtained my internship opportunity through GWConnect. I first discovered the organization on LinkedIn while I was still completing my N6 studies. After applying, they contacted me within two weeks and advised me to reach out again once I had completed my N6 qualification. I did so, and within four months of completing my N6, they contacted me again and began assisting me in securing an internship opportunity.
Company
I am currently completing my internship at Ithemba Property Management (Pty) Ltd, a property management company. This opportunity has allowed me to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources and understand how HR operates in a real business environment. I am learning a lot about workplace processes, employee support, and the practical side of HR. The experience is helping me grow professionally and build a strong foundation for my career in Human Resources.
