My name is Banele Majafa, a 22-year-old female and a proud graduate of Vaal
University of Technology, where I completed my Diploma in Cost and Management
Accounting. I am passionate about finance, problem-solving, and collaborating with
people to achieve shared goals.
Work Experience
*I did not have formal work experience prior to this opportunity except academia.
During my academic journey, I developed strong teamwork and leadership skills by
supporting my peers with assignments and helping them understand challenging
concepts. I believe in working together and ensuring that everyone progresses as a
team.
Why Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting
I chose to study Cost and Management Accounting because I wanted to understand
how financial information tells the story of a business. I find it interesting that every
figure in financial statements has meaning and leads to important questions about
whether a business is progressing or declining. This helps organisations make better
decisions and plan.
Internship
I discovered WG House Consult (Pty) Ltd through a testimonial on LinkedIn and
decided to register my CV with my college. At first, I did not understand the process
and ignored some of the emails requesting documents. However, after receiving
guidance call from a consultant, I followed the process correctly.
Company
Today, I am proud to be part of SoluGrowth (Pty)Ltd, where I continue to learn, grow,
and work alongside an inspiring team.
In my current role, I have gained experience in onboarding suppliers, processing
purchase orders, converting them into invoices, and preparing reports. I have also
adapted to new systems like Xero, which has helped me grow professionally.
Working at SoluGrowth (Pty) Ltd has been a great experience. I am surrounded by
supportive and driven colleagues, and I truly hope to see the organisation continue
to grow, make a greater impact, and develop me further as a professional as I grow
alongside it.
To aspiring finance and accounting students: stay consistent, be open to learning,
and never give up. Your opportunity will come.
