Work Experience
*Before this role I was freelancing for small businesses by using my technical skills and finance principles to manage their books and help with financial decisions. This and being a tutor has helped me build my communication and fine tune my skills. it helped me confirm that I truly want to pursue a career in finance.
Why Degree in Economics Management
In all honesty, I chose to study Economics to escape the science route. I later started finding the mystery behind every policy and the introduction into finance roles as fascinating. I furthered my studies to better understanding more are of finance and economics to better understand why certain decisions are made to keep the business running.
Internship
I applied on Pnet for this role and I was called back weeks later.
Company
I'm now working at Solu Growth as a Finance intern. My role involves reporting on the company different bank accounts and performing duties that leads to bank recons as well as following up with payments from international clients. It's been an amazing learning curve; I am using most of the technical skills I acquired in Uni and finance knowledge daily. I also have an amazing team that constantly checks on me and teach me how to do the job effectively. I'm excited to keep growing here.
