My name is Mahlatse Ramoroka, and I am a recent Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting graduate from the University of Johannesburg, with majors in Auditing, Taxation, Finance, and Accounting. My academic journey has been complemented by meaningful work experiences that have shaped my professional growth and prepared me for the world of finance.
Work Experience
*During my studies, I worked as a tutor with Tomorrow Trust (2022–2024), where I assisted Grade 8 and 9 learners with Mathematics. This role strengthened my communication skills, patience, and ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and practical manner. It also instilled in me a sense of responsibility and the importance of contributing to the success of others.
Why Degree in Finance/Commerce
My decision to pursue accounting was motivated by a passion for numbers, analysis, and the critical role financial management plays in every organization. I wanted to build a career that combined my analytical strengths with my interest in business operations, and accounting provided the perfect foundation.
Internship
Through persistence and preparation, I secured a pre-internship at WGH Chartered Accountants, where I am currently serving as a finance intern. At WGH Chartered Accountants, I am gaining valuable exposure to financial reporting, auditing, and compliance. The firm is committed to excellence and provides a supportive environment where interns are encouraged to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully. This experience has allowed me to apply my academic knowledge in real-world scenarios while developing practical skills that will serve me throughout my career.
Company
My journey demonstrates that determination, continuous learning, and embracing every opportunity can lead to success. I hope my story inspires other students to remain focused, to value every experience, and to believe in their ability to achieve their goals.
