I am Lindokuhle Dube Original from KZN in deep rural areas. I want to share with you how talent incubation programs help me find greener pastures far away from home.
Work Experience
*I finished matric in 2018. Didn’t go straight to college, though. I waited and figured things out. In 2021, I finally enrolled at Ekurhuleni East TVET College for Financial Management N6. I pushed hard and finished my N6 in record time in 2022.But finishing class was just the start. I needed an internship to obtain a National N Diploma. That is where my story begins
Why N6 Financial Management
I worked as a cashier at Makro for 6 months until my contract ended. Then 1 month as a shop assistant at Magic Store, casual. A few weeks as a waitress at Paranotti’s. Every job taught me something, but I was still applying for internships with no luck.
Internship
Then, talent incubation program. called me. They look out for students who need work exposure. They didn’t just send my CV to a company .They actually prepared me for my first corporate interview. I’d never been interviewed in a corporate setup before, but because of them, I walked into Sandton Plant Hire confident. It worked. I got it.
Company
Now I’m a Creditors Clerk Intern at Sandton Plant Hire. I work with suppliers and handle invoices, and I’m finally getting that practical experience for my diploma.
From cashier to corporate desk. Every “small job” was a step. And I’m not done yet. If you’re still applying and hearing “no” — keep going. Your call is coming too.
