My name is Seipetlile Barbara Ramatladi and I grew up in a township in Soweto, Johannesburg. I completed my Bachelor of Accounting degree at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Outside of my professional pursuits, I am someone who values religion and continuous growth.
Work Experience
*I have worked as a data capture at Metrofile. I also did audit vacation work for PricewateCoopers and served as a volunteer financial clerk for a local nonprofit organization.
Why Bachelor of Accounting degree
I have always had a passion for commerce and back in high school I really enjoyed doing accounting. I wanted to build a career where I could work with financial system, so I decided that after high school I was going to pursue finance.
Internship
As I was submitting my CV to different companies after graduating, it was quite difficult to secure a stable accounting role or internship. I then came across a TalentSA recruitment post which helps graduates get in-service training and job placement. After applying, the agency facilitated my appointment and I got a call to start my internship program.
Company
Flight Centre is one of the largest travel groups, with a massive presence right here in South Africa. The work environment is incredible, they genuinely believe in having fun at work, celebrating everyone’s success, and keeping an open structure where there is no “us and them.” Being in the finance department here is an amazing experience because I get to learn how a massive global business manages its complex financial planning and operations.
