I’m Portia Mpho Legong born in Limpopo, raised in Pretoria. Attended school at Saulridge Secondary moved to Fusion Secondary, doing grade 10 until grade 12. After matric I registered with Tshwane University of Technology to study Economic Management Analysis but unfortunately I couldn’t due to some circumstances, then I decided to go further my studies at Tshwane North College FET where I studied financial management.
Work Experience
*During my school holidays I worked at a retail store to help pay my tuition fees and transport fare, after my studies I hoped to get a job that was in line with my field of study but fortunately I got a job at legit stores where I worked as a cashier and merchandiser, due to some personal circumstances I had to leave and stay at home for a few months later I got recruited at Metropolitan Life as a sales consultant.
Why Financial Management N6
Finance is one of the important skills in the business world, it’s an operating system of a business or company, many fail, undergo bankruptcy, get blacklisted due to misconducts and lack of knowledge on how to balance financial matters of a business or company. I believe with the skills I inquired at school and at my workplace as a finance intern I can generate ideas and solutions to help upcoming businesses in their finances and operations to save or avoid going bankrupt.
Internship
After almost a year of sitting at home a former classmate advised me to register with a company named GWConnect, so I registered and got a call from a company called OUTEX inviting me for an interview at Mustek limited, then one of the ladies at OUTEX called to inform me that I passed the interview and need to start work on Monday the 12th of September 2016. Thank you to GWConnect and OUTEX.
Company
Mustek limited is one of the country’s largest assemblers and distributor of personal computers and ict products like Meccer, Huawei, Lenovo etc. It’s a very conducive and a company that has many opportunities for a person. It is a warm and welcoming company the colleagues are so helpful and motivational. GWConnect really connect people who may thought have lost their dreams.
