I am Lettie Ngwato, I was born and raised in a place called Makapanstad which is in Hammarskraal and I’m currently staying at Lotus garden. I completed my matric in 2013. I’m a former student of Tshwane South College where I was doing Financial Management ,I’ve completed my N6 theory in 2015, I went back to do Income tax in 2016 as I was not doing anything at the time.
Work Experience
*I used to do casual work which lasted for three months as it was for December most of the time.
Why Financial management
I choose to study Financial Management because when I was in school, I loved accounting, Finance plays an important role in the economy and it impacts everyone regardless of whether or not you have done it. I had a good attitude towards it and loving my teacher. I got interested and I was enjoying calculating it. I was also motivated by few close friends to further it in college
Internship
I heard about GW-Connect from a friend, he created a profile for me then I did the follow up by calling Khathu to ask if they had my profile, they told me they got it and said if the is something coming on my department they will call me. One of the blessing days after waiting on them They called me and ask for me to update my personal description, later he called inviting me for an interview. Khathu was so patient and polite when he was talking to me until I get the internship.
Company
Now I’m an intern at Old Mutual Insure and I am learning a lot. My mentors (Maureen Leburu, Beaurothy Masikane) are very helpful and all the colleagues at Old Mutual Insure are very friendly and helpful. What I am learning at Old Mutual Insure is very relevant to what I have studied at college and even more. All thanks to GW-Connect and OUTEX for making this opportunity available for me.
