My name is Betty Nthabiseng Makhafola and I grew up in Hammanskraal then moved to Mamelodi after my studies. I completed my matric in 2013 at Hans Kekana High School and further my studies at Tshwane north TVET college from 2016 - 2018 where I did a course in Financial Management.
Work Experience
*In late 2014 I got a job as a stock taker and a cleaner at Avondale Conewox Silverton dale where my duty was to pack stock, count stock, baking ice cream cones and clean the factory.
Why Financial Management
I choose Financial management because finances a very broad industry that has a lot of opportunities that allow a person to grow in business. It is a very interesting course that is easy to understand, it helps individuals understand the financial industry and apply financial principals in their daily lives. I aspire to grow in the industry and become an accountant in future.
Internship
I saw a GW connect post on Facebook about internships for TVET college students. I started registering on their site and in November 2019 I was invited to my first interview at Outex. It did not go well, and I was later invited to another interview in February 2020 at Big save Distribution Centre where I started my internship.
Company
Working at Big save DC is exciting because the people are friendly, we work together as a team with my colleagues and the challenges help me grow as an individual and learn to communicate an be responsible
