My name is Malewatle Donna Matla . I am from Kagiso, a township in the West Rand of Johannesburg. I matriculated in 2016 at Mosupatsela Secondary School, then went on to study at the University of Johannesburg. I enjoy engaging with people, music, reading as well as writing.
Work Experience
*I completed a BCom Finance degree in November 2019. It was a big achievement for me because I was the first one in my family to go on to university. I had financial challenges while in tertiary and I fell pregnant during my last year of study. Acquiring my degree meant that I could change my family's circumstances and follow my dreams. I was unemployed for 9 months after finishing tertiary. Job hunting was very hard, especially have no working experience. I got my first job at a call center, doing sales. It was a learning experience, challenging and it helped me gain several skills.
Why Bachelor of Commerce
Since grade eleven I've always enjoyed Mathematics and Accounting. I wanted to become a Chartered Accountant. Working with figures and problem solving was what I enjoyed the most. The choice of being a CA(SA) came from my love of the subjects as well as the opportunities it would open for me.
Internship
I applied for several posts, from retail to learnerships, entry-level jobs and still had not luck. One day I saw an advertisement on LinkedIn and used the link to register my profile on my-college.co.za . After a month, I was invited to an interview for an internship with Motus Corporation. Three days later I got a call from 360CFO to let me know that my interview was successful, and I had gotten the internship.
Company
I am based at Renault West Rand. I started on the
7th of June and it's been amazing. The people are nice and I'm getting the support I need. I'm learning a lot and I feel like part of the family.
I am very grateful for the opportunity.
