My name is Tania Khumalo, I was born and raised in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. I attended Bonela Secondary school and matriculated in 2011. I studied LLB Laws in University of KwaZulu Natal for two years and did not complete my degree because of financial difficulties. In 2019 I decided to apply for the NSFAS bursary and studied Management Assistant at Elangeni TVET College and completed my N6 in 2020.

Internship
I joined a Telegram group called Unemployment must fall and the website of GWConnect was advertised there and then I decided to register and submit my documents. Unexpectedly I received a call from Outex to go for an interview. At first I was skeptical since Outex is based in Pretoria and I’m based in Durban, however the staff at Outex assured me that it was a professional environment and looking back, I realize it was the best decision I have ever made.
Company
I am an Intern under Stallion Security at the Durban branch. Stallion Security is large security company that has branches all over South Africa and in neighboring countries such as Botswana. Their Motto/slogan is ‘creating confidence’. The working environment is exactly as I had pictured it and I am very grateful to be part of their team. My colleagues are very supportive and we work well as a team.
