My name is Thando, I am 29 years of age. I grew up in a small township Tladi, Soweto. I went to Lenz Public School and that is where I completed my matric in 2011. I then furthered my studies at The Market Theatre Foundation School of photography, The Market Photo Workshop in 2013 where I majored in photography and completed my diploma in media studies in 2016.
Work Experience
*In-between my years of studying I started working as a sales representative at VT Marketing where I acquired and developed my communication and peoples skills. After completing my studies at the Market Photo Workshop, I then volunteered as a receptionist and an assistant administrator for the school in 2017. I then got a job at Smollan Group as a marketer for one of their clients CNA. Being a marketer, I learned the importance of branding and product knowledge.
Why N6 Human Resource Management
Throughout my years of working in different fields and studying, I realized my passion for the well-being of people especially in the work environment. I then applied for a Human Resource Management Course at Ekurhuleni West TVET College in 2019 and completed my N6 in Human Resource Management in 2021, June
Internship
I submitted my resume and qualifications at the Ekurhuleni West TVET College Cooperate Centre. A few weeks later after my application, I received a phone call from GW Connect inviting me for an HR internship interview.
Company
Being granted the Internship at Goldplat Recovery by GW Connect is the best opportunity I have ever hoped for. It is one of the largest mining companies in South Africa and in Ghana. I have found that the organization gives their interns a taste of every aspect of the company to ensure we understand what the organization is about and it's goals.
The employees are very helpful and friendly. I have been exposed to a number of human resource aspects: Exploring the HR System, assisting with the processes of recruitment, attending disciplinary hearings and attending to CCMA matters, organizing and planning of organization employee events and another wide scope of responsibilities.
I am a firm believer in creating harmonious working relationships and I Iook forward to learn how to overcome various situations in the field of HR. I am very grateful to be granted this opportunity by GW Connect and I hope to transition into a successful human resources manager with an integrity one day.
