My name is Matlolo Agnitius Motseatsea and I come from Ga-Kibi Grootpan, a village in Limpopo
province. I completed my secondary education at Mahadikana High School in 2017 and then
moved to Polokwane to pursue higher studies. I graduated from the University of Limpopo in 2022
with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Computer Science and Statistics.
Work Experience
*I have gained valuable work experience in various fields since May 2022. My first job was as a
school assistant at Ramongwana Primary School, a community development project supported by
Mvula Trust, a non-profit organization. I worked there for four months, from May 2022 to August
2022. After my contract ended, I moved to Polokwane and joined Real Promotions, a marketing
company, as a fibre sales consultant. I worked there for three months, from August 2022 to
November 2022, and developed my skills in communication, persuasion, and customer service. In
March 2023, I started my first internship with GW Connect as IT Intern
Why degree in computer science
Technology has always captivated me with its potential to solve real-world problems. My journey
before choosing computer science as my field of study began when I was assisting my uncle in
repairing various electronic devices such as computers, TVs, phones, etc. He earned his livelihood
from this skill, and I found it rewarding because I always had earnings and it was a wonderful
learning experience. When I was in grade 12, I had the opportunity to attend a career expo
organized by De Beers mine, which I consider to be a turning point in my life because that’s where I
received valuable guidance on choosing a career path that suited my interests and abilities. My
interest in the field of computer science stems from its high demand in the market and its lucrative
income prospect
Internship
I applied for the IT internship at GWConnect after hearing about it from my friend Letsebe DH, who
studied with me at University of Limpopo. I was delighted to be accepted for the internship, which
offers me valuable experience at a placed company and access to various online courses. I am
grateful to my friend Letsebe DH and GWConnect for this amazing opportunity.
Company
STS3D is a company that provides virtual reality learning solutions for the mining industry. They
use VR headsets, tactile simulators, and immersive learning to train miners in safety and
productivity. I had an amazing experience working as an IT intern at STS3D. I was involved in
various projects related to data analysis, unity3d and software testing. I learned a lot from my
mentor and the other IT professionals in the team. They were always helpful, friendly, and
encouraging. They gave me constructive feedback and recognition for my work. I also enjoyed the
company culture, which was innovative, flexible, and fun. I feel that I gained valuable skills and
knowledge that will help me in my future career. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I
highly recommend STS3D to anyone who wants to work in a dynamic and supportive IT
environment.
